Who We Are

Founder and Head Coach, Hayden Murdoch, has been working with primary and secondary school aged children as a PE Teacher for over 10 years. During this time, he has coached a wide range of sports at school, club, regional and state levels.

Many of my fondest memories as a child have been through playing sport. The friendships I forged, the skills I developed and the lessons I learnt along the way have been instrumental in building my character and allowing me to live a healthy and happy life. Exercise, recreation and sport can provide both fulfilling and enjoyable experiences, however throughout my career as a PE Teacher I realised that for many children this is not the case. As a sports fanatic I couldn’t understand why so many children were disengaged in PE or sports at school. While I acknowledge we live in an ever-changing world with technology becoming more prevalent, I couldn’t believe this was the primary reason why children didn’t want to participate in any form of sport or exercise. I soon learnt that a key factor in children not participating is a fear of failure, ultimately leading to embarrassment and shame. It was in this discovery that I found my inspiration for starting this program to provide a nurturing environment for young children to develop both the confidence and capability to participate in and enjoy exercise, recreation and sport for the rest of their lives.
